Outlook on Life

December 16th, 2010

My dear wife has often told me that it's her opinion that I was born 100 years too late and that I surely would have been an explorer. You know, I think she's right. Well, not about being born too late maybe, but probably the explorer part. What is just over the next hill or just around the next bend in the road calls to me.

My outlook on life can be likened to a two-laned road or even the "Road Less Traveled". I find it much more interesting to take life a little bit slower rather than rapidly as if rushing along on an Interstate highway. Most Interstate highways actually look pretty much the same while the diversity of life that can be experienced traveling on the side roads is truly amazing! Who knows what we can see or who we can meet when we slow down and look around. I've discovered some of the most interesting places and people when it appeared that I was lost. I really wasn't, you know, I just didn't happen to know exactly where I was at that moment.

Does anyone else agree with my desire to experience the wonders of side road traveling? Is it possible that some day, on some obscure side road to adventure, we'll meet up with each other? I'll keep the coffee pot warm.
